Ethics

Valentina's work is guided by principles drawn from depth psychology, Focusing practice, and professional standards of confidentiality and respect.

This page outlines the ethical foundations of the practice.

Psychological Autonomy

The dream belongs to the dreamer.

Interpretations are not imposed. Meaning develops through the client's own associations, emotional responses, and lived experience.

The role of the practitioner is to support inquiry — not to define truth for the client.

Confidentiality

Private sessions are confidential.

In group settings, participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding what is shared. While absolute legal confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in group contexts, participants are expected to honor privacy agreements.

Scope of Practice

This work is educational and developmental in nature.

It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, medical care, or crisis intervention.

If a participant appears to require clinical mental health support, referral to licensed professionals may be recommended.

Professional Boundaries

Sessions are conducted within agreed time limits and structural boundaries.

Communication outside of sessions is limited to scheduling and administrative matters unless otherwise agreed.

Dual relationships that may impair professional judgment are avoided.

Responsibility and Agency

Participants remain responsible for their own decisions, interpretations, and actions outside of sessions.

The purpose of the work is to strengthen inner listening and psychological clarity — not to provide directives or life decisions.
